The Names in This Verse (4)

166 mṛṣākopaprakampoṣṭhaḥ

whose lips quivered with pretended anger

S.B.G 10.9.18

Caught and bound, the toddler Kṛṣṇa's lower lip trembles in mock-anger and mock-fear; the gopīs surrounding the scene laugh at the affecting display.

167 goṣṭhāṅgaṇavilokanaḥ

who surveyed the courtyard of the cow-pen

S.B.G 10.9.18

Tied to the mortar in the goṣṭha courtyard, the child gazes around at the familiar yard — the spot where his exploits had unfolded — now from his bound position.

168 dadhimanthaghaṭībhettā

who broke the curd-churning pot

S.B.G 10.9.6

Among Kṛṣṇa's butter-thefts, the breaking of curd-churning pots (dadhi-mantha-ghaṭī) is most celebrated; the sound of cracking pottery alerts the gopīs to his presence.

169 kiṅkiṇīkvāṇasūcitaḥ

given away by the jingling of his waist-bells

S.B.G 10.8.22

The little bells on Kṛṣṇa's anklets and waist-chain reveal his presence even when he tries to be silent; the tinkling sound (kiṅkiṇī-kvāṇa) tells the gopīs he is near.
