The Names in This Verse (4)

118 yaśodāstanyamuditaḥ

delighted by Yaśodā's breast-milk

S.B.G 10.7.17

The infant Kṛṣṇa suckles Yaśodā contentedly; the mother-and-child nursing scene is one of the Bhāgavata's most tender images of mutual bhakti.

119 tṛṇāvartādidussahaḥ

unbearable to Tṛṇāvarta and his kind

S.B.G 10.7.20

The demon Tṛṇāvarta, sent as a whirlwind, snatches the toddler into the sky but finds the child unbearably heavy; Kṛṣṇa's weight cannot be borne by any force.

120 tṛṇāvartāsuradhvaṃsī

destroyer of the whirlwind-demon Tṛṇāvarta

S.B.G 10.7.26

As the whirlwind carries him into the sky, Kṛṣṇa seizes the demon's throat; his tiny hands crush the neck and the demon falls dead from the sky.

121 mātṛvismayakārakaḥ

who filled his mother with wonder

S.B.G 10.8.37

When Yaśodā peers into the baby's mouth to check for mud, she sees the entire universe; overcome by wonder, she faints; Kṛṣṇa withdraws the vision through Yoga-māyā.
