The infant Kṛṣṇa suckles Yaśodā contentedly; the mother-and-child nursing scene is one of the Bhāgavata's most tender images of mutual bhakti.

As the whirlwind carries him into the sky, Kṛṣṇa seizes the demon's throat; his tiny hands crush the neck and the demon falls dead from the sky.

When Yaśodā peers into the baby's mouth to check for mud, she sees the entire universe; overcome by wonder, she faints; Kṛṣṇa withdraws the vision through Yoga-māyā.
