The Names in This Verse (4)

181 nāradoktiparāmarśī

mindful of Nārada's word

the sage's decree behind the curse

S.B.G 10.10.6

Nārada's old curse on the two sons of Kubera (for their arrogance in the heavenly Kailasa) had specified that Viṣṇu would come and uproot them; Kṛṣṇa now fulfils Nārada's prediction.

182 yamalārjunabhañjanaḥ

feller of the twin arjuna trees

S.B.G 10.10.27

Kṛṣṇa drags the mortar between the twin Arjuna trees; the mortar catches; he pulls; both enormous trees crash to earth, revealing the now-freed sons of Kubera in their divine forms.

183 dhanadātmajasaṅghuṣṭaḥ

extolled by the sons of Kubera, the wealth-giver

S.B.G 10.10.27

'Praised by the sons of Kubera (dhanada = treasurer)' — freed from their tree-state, Nala-kūvara and Maṇi-grīva deliver a magnificent hymn of recognition to Kṛṣṇa before departing to their celestial abodes.

184 nandamocitabandhanaḥ

whose bonds were untied by Nanda

S.B.G 10.11.1

After the trees crash, Nanda and the cowherds come running; they find Kṛṣṇa still tied to the mortar in the wreckage; Nanda himself unties the child, marvelling at his miraculous escape.
