The Names in This Verse (4)

899 prasādaparamōdāraḥ

supremely generous in bestowing grace

900 gāṅgeyasugatipradaḥ

who gave Bhīṣma (Gāṅgeya, son of the Gaṅgā) a blessed end

M.B Anuśāsanaparva 167

Bhīṣma (Gāṅgeya = son of the Gaṅgā) attains liberation at death while gazing on Kṛṣṇa's face; Kṛṣṇa stands by the deathbed to ensure the grandsire's final vision is of the Supreme.

901 vipakṣapakṣakṣayakṛt

who brought about the destruction of both opposing factions

M.B Bhīṣmaparva through Salyaparva

The Kurukṣetra war destroys both sides: the Kauravas completely, and the Pāṇḍava allies largely; Kṛṣṇa—who takes no life himself during the war—is the organizing intelligence behind the total destruction.

902 parīkṣitprāṇarakṣaṇaḥ

who protected the life of Parīkṣit

restoring the unborn child to life in Uttarā's womb

M.B Sauptikaparva 16

After Aśvatthāmā's brahmastra targets Uttarā's womb to end the Pāṇḍava lineage, Kṛṣṇa enters the womb with his Sudarśana and revives the dead embryo—the future Parīkṣit, last of the Pāṇḍava line.
